About Us
About Us
The Argyle Institute of Human Relations is a charitable non-profit organization with a longstanding commitment to the emotional well-being of Montrealers. We provide sliding fee psychotherapy services to the community, continuing education to mental health professionals, and a range of educational services to the community at large.
HISTORY OF THE ARGYLE
The Argyle was established in 1982 by a group of dedicated mental health professionals with the twofold purpose of helping people in distress, and providing advanced training to mental health professionals in individual, couple, and family therapy.
The founders were inspired by the principles of the Mental Hygiene Institute, which had been serving the population since 1919, providing services directly to people in need, working cooperatively with other agencies, offering teaching seminars to therapists, providing family life education and community services, and staffing a marriage counselling centre.
LIKE OUR PREDECESSORS, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU.
We offer a wide range of services to individuals, couples, families, the general public, professionals, community agencies, and the business world. Our programs are constantly monitored for quality assurance and evolve to meet the needs of those we serve.
The Argyle is governed by a voluntary board of directors comprised of people who support our mission. We are committed to the highest standards of service and training.
