A celebration of her life, it documents her journey in 1958 as a brown skinned girl from Barbados to Montreal, Canada, to study nursing. It highlights her life as a wife and working mother, far away from her roots and aging parents. It is a gentle, respectful, feel-good perspective of life and the meaningful people she has encountered. She describes with gratitude the important role that family, friends, colleagues, nature, food, singing, and humour have played in her journey. Pat has touched the life of so many. She is full of joie de vie and Bajan warmth. To quote her: “I have discovered that underneath our outer wrapping, we are all much more alike than we are different, and that our human vulnerabilities span all cultural, colour and socio-economic boundaries.” For those interested in purchasing her book directly, you may email her at ladypat20@hotmail.com The cost is $20.00 (CAD) and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will go to Chez Doris Women’s Shelter in Montreal. www.chezdoris.org Share This Article Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Email
