The theme of this workshop will be to master the Solution Focused Approach beyond the theory and techniques. The focus will be on the common questions associated with this approach and how to ask them in session in a way that is more likely to lead towards positive changes in the client’s lives.
In order to use the Solution Focused Approach effectively with clients, professionals need to learn this approach differently from the way they learned other approaches. The reason is because in problem focused therapies it is appropriate to study problems, but when using the Solution Focused Approach, you have to study language. That is what this lecture is all about, how to use the questions to generate responses that will lead towards change for the client. This workshop will feature lecture, video examples from sessions, live demonstrations, and interactive exercises throughout both days of the workshop.
This workshop will focus on using this approach with couples and families as well as with clients struggling significant mental health issues. This event is targeted to anyone who work in the helping profession, such as, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, and family therapists.
