Argyle News How you can make an impact in your community Argyle Institute May 31, 2021 Argyle News Dear Friends and Members of the Argyle, Have you been asking yourself what you can do to help others during this time of crisis? If so, the Argyle is asking you for your support to help us continue to provide accessible and affordable counselling and support services to those in need. While Québec – and the world at large – has been struggling with the greatest healthcare crisis of the century, we continue to face the greatest mental health crisis of our lifetime. There are seniors who still cannot see their families, living in constant fear of getting sick, thousands of isolated students – far away from family and friends – who are depressed and anxious about what their future holds. Add to that the thousands of individuals who are living alone, isolated from family and friends for over a year now, suffering from depression and anxiety. And then there are the countless other individuals who have lost their jobs, businesses, relationships, friends and family members to the havoc wreaked by this pandemic. All of them have come to us for help. Help us….. to help them. In spite of the limitations of social distancing, the increased demand for services and waiting lists abound, the Argyle has adapted quickly and found creative ways to help more people by going online and by providing assisted self-help webinars called the “While you Wait” program. With this program, our experts provide people in need with the information, support and resources they need to deal with issues such as depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, over-eating during lockdown, substance abuse, mourning and loss during this time. Help us to provide those in need of the services that the Argyle can offer. Your donation of any amount will enable us to offer this new While you Wait program and clinical psychotherapy for someone who desperately needs it during this time. Together, we can and will overcome all of this. Wishing you and your close and loved ones safe health and a speedy return to normal soon! Sincerely, Johanne E.
